Dua Lipa was born 22nd August 1995 in London, United Kingdom. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017 after she had been signed by Warner Bros Records. The album climbed to No. 3 in the U.K. Charts. There were eight singles released including Be the 1 I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules. In the United States it peaked as number 6. Lipa was awarded the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. Her album is certified platinum across a variety of countries. Dua Lipa was born on 22 August, 1995 London. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin lipa. Her parents are of Bosnian descent via her mother's grandmother. Additionally, her ancestors are from Peja, which is a Kosovo town of Peja. The Lipa's grandparents are historians. Gjin and Rina are her twins. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father, who was the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock band Oda. At home, her father played music of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing at the age of six years old. In just her ninth year she began singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa covered Beautiful by Christina Aguilera as well as If Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. Her record deal with Warner Bros. Records was announced in 2014. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
