Simone Biles

Simone Biles, American gymnast (born 14 March 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.) is considered to be one of sport's best athletes. The 2016 Olympics were held at Rio de Janeiro and Biles became the U.S.'s first female gymnast to earn 4 gold medals. She also claimed the title of world champion for all-around 3 times in succession (2013-15). Biles was raised within Spring Texas, in the Houston metro area. Biles and her sister Adria had been adopted by Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone began to take an interest in the sport of gymnastics as a young girl when she took a field trip for day care at Bannon's Gymnastix and stayed there for 11 years under the direction of her instructor Aimee Boorman. Biles took home a gold medal for floor exercises and also a bronze in vault during the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010 before breaking into the elite level of competition in 2011. In less than two years, she dominated the sport. Biles stood out for her consistent, having an exuberant and lively personality, and also incorporating the most difficult of exercises into all her events vaulting uneven floor workouts.
